Let’s Stand for Hope

Donald Trump is not our enemy. He shares our milieu. He’s a passenger on this boat just like us, and he is subject to karmic justice and reconciliation. He is a soul and he’s embedded in matter, forgetful of his true nature. He will be brought forward and see what he’s wrought with clarity.

The Republicans are not our enemies. They are suffering, clinging, wrestling with the forces of change that bring forward unity and wholeness. Fear of change is a natural human experience, but life has a way of moving us through this fear and into change no matter how much we resist. We make this journey together.

The Democrats are not our enemies. They are protecting themselves, their ideology, their party, their identity, and compromising the ideals that their hearts long to embody. They serve the divisive power of money and cater to corruption, but they will awaken, breath by breath and heartbeat by heartbeat, to the consequences of their choices. They will face themselves.

Our enemy is despair, hopelessness, cynicism. Our enemy is giving up because it all feels to big and complicated and untenable. Despair is a force that seeks to pin us down, keep us small and ineffective. Let’s wake up and shake it off and stay alert to its subtle machinations.

We are living in a time of transformation, embedded in a consciousness that rejects subjective experience. Our hearts are opening, our minds are expanding, our lives are intersecting and our experience of ‘self’ is embracing more and more of what has been felt as ‘other’.

The victory of hope over hopelessness, of love over hate, of truth over delusion is assured. Nature is not random or pointless. All of terrestrial evolution is an inescapable collective movement toward unity and wholeness. Spirit and matter are inherently One, and also becoming One in time and space.

Every thought we have is powerful. When we think despair, enmity, division, these forces radiate from us and into our environment like an oil spill. When we think hope, aspiration, love, these forces flow into the hearts that surround us, joining and uplifting.

The world is not falling apart beloved friends. The world is being unveiled. Reality is being unmasked. Pain is being released and reconciled. Let us bear this collective pain together, not turning away or collapsing in despair, but standing strong for love, standing together, holding the line. Let’s join heart to heart and receive the love of this vast and awake universe. Let’s stand for hope.

  1. Nicely put Mathew. When I think of hope a saying of Yogi Bhajan comes to mind, ‘Hope is not a prediction of the future, it’s a declaration of what’s possible.’

  2. Consciousness mediates chaos (yin) and order (yang). I agree that we must focus on our own path and be careful of what we project onto others. Donald Trump is a sad little boy bound by shame. His karma is unfolding.

The following poem by Hafiz reminds me daily of my personal path.

    The one regret Dear World
That I am determined not to have
As I am lying in my deathbed
Is that I have not kissed you enough.

  3. Dear Matthew,

This is a beautiful message, that so eloquently reflects my view of the the world.
    Thank-you.
Sending many Namastes and LOVE, Eleanor
