AUM Conference Special Guest Tara Jauhar
Taradidi (as she is affectionately known to many) grew up at the Sri Aurobindo Ashram in Pondicherry while both Sri Aurobindo and the Mother were still alive. She arrived in 1944 at the age of 8, and her aptitude for organizational leadership was spotted by the Mother early on. She spent nearly 30 years in close and intimate contact with the Mother, and was entrusted with increasing responsibility at the school, sports grounds, and other areas, including being chosen to recite Sri Aurobindo’s Hymn to Durga at the official ceremony when Pondicherry became a part of India. She also took hundreds of photos of the Mother, and worked with the Mother to compile the book The Spiritual Significance of Flowers, which includes photos and Mother’s descriptions of 898 varieties of flowers. Taradidi is an inspiration to us all, and her presence at the AUM conference is a great gift.
A video of questions and answers with Tara from the recent Sourcing Our Oneness event at Nainital is available here.
