As a yoga and meditation teacher, as a yoga therapist, as an embodiment guide, and as an artist of inner transformation – is insight into how to cultivate your relationship with your own wisdom, your own knower and knowingness. I share a modern, tender and accessible approach to ancient knowledge – how to deepen inner listening, how to refine discernment, how to focus concentration, and how to harness the inherent energy accessible within change.
I first stepped into a yoga class in 1998, entering through the doorway of deep grief. Since then, my journey has allowed me to inhabit my physical, emotional, mental, and energetic body in a way that is curious rather than commandeering, kind rather than critical, intuitive rather than intellectual.
I have been teaching hatha yoga since 2009, when I completed several years of Anusara training with Suzie Hurley at Willow Street Yoga Center, and am a registered E-RYT200 & RYT500 yoga teacher. I am a C-IAYT yoga therapist, trained by Jnani Chapman through Integral Yoga and YCat, specializing in Cancer and Chronic Illness. In 2015, I received Awakened Heart Meditation teacher training from my long-time meditation teacher Sally Kempton. That year I also completed Sacred Journey: Being Present with Aging, Illness and Dying, a nine-month contemplative course offered by Insight Meditation Community of Washington. I am thrilled to have finished Yoga Center Amherst’s Embodyoga 200-hour training in 2021.
I hold a BA in Environmental Science and Public Policy from Harvard University, studied Photography at California College of the Arts, and am a long-time resident of Washington DC.
